In early 2017, the team began deep work in NLP and NLU, determined to build AI engines entirely from the ground up. No shortcuts. No off-the-shelf models. Over 74,880 hours of research, coding, testing, and re-coding followed before the first production-ready version of conversational intelligence — SAM HQ — was delivered in late 2019. To train and test the models with precision, the team built a full suite of essential business applications, generating their own real-world data from a live global user base rather than relying on synthetic datasets.
That relentless pursuit of accuracy led to breakthroughs the industry had not seen. Sam.ai introduced Nuanced Reporting — contextual intelligence that goes many levels deeper than any existing engine — and Unified Holistic Data (UHD), a model that generates insights across multiple data sources simultaneously. SAM HQ: First Production Release
